SUICIDE TELEGRAM BY JASEN SOUSA

SUICIDE TELEGRAM

My grandma was cleaning under my mother’s bed,
she said that she had found a note,
something that my mother wrote.

After reading this letter
I cannot come to explain what I felt,
all I know is that it started pouring
and my heart began to melt.

It read:

Pressures in my life,
I can no longer handle.
My soul is on fire and the tears
drip down my face like wax from a candle.
I want to let you know
that I love you so much.
I will no longer be here physically,
but I will always be in touch.
I will watch over you now
as I did down on earth.
My greatest day and greatest moment,
the day of your birth.
I cannot come to say
how much I will miss you.
Every night before you go to bed,
I will still come tuck you in and kiss you.

Watch out for the suicide telegram,
it appears out of the blue.
Right now it could be in the mail on its way
addressed and headed for you.
