SELF INFLICTED SUFFERING By Jasen Sousa

SELF INFLICTED SUFFERING

I starve myself
so I can hear my stomach growl.
Being comfortable, being content, being full,
is something I will never allow.

I slice sections of my skin
to understand pain.
I walk out of my house with my body covered in blood
waiting to be cleansed by rain.

Love cannot be a part of my life
if I write about broken hearts.
No imagination of a wife,
no dating, no dreaming, no hoping.

Self inflicted suffering,
I practice for the good of all humanity.
Think of it as my experiment
to see what causes insanity.
